Google Nest Hub Not announcing reminders

I recently bought the Nest Hub (2nd gen). I set a reminder for my yoga class at 10:30am.

I previously had echo spot which would display and also announce the reminder at the set time. However the Google nest hub only seems to display the reminder but not announce it.

Is there a way to have the nest hub announce and display the reminder?

Hello!

Have you tried verifying your notification settings? They should be in the Google Home app.

Wait. I have to turn on notifications on my phone to have the nest hub announce it in the speaker?

If there's a specific type of notification that you've turned off, try re-enabling it in your Google Home app. 

Go to the Google Home app > Settings > Notifications > General Notifications/WiFi notifications > Use the toggles to enable/disable notifications

If you don't hear notification sounds, it can also be the result of Do Not Disturb being enabled on your Google Nest Mini. If you have it enabled, disable it and try again.

I have the all the general notifications in the google home app enabled. The nest hub does not have the "Do not Disturb" enabled.
