Google Nest Hub stuck on G logo after plugging in when mic switch is off

This issue only affects the Nest Hub display.

For the past three months, my Nest Hub seems to be acting awkwardly. After plugging in with the mic switch turned off, the Google G logo appears on a gray background. Despite the screen being stuck, the audio functions work correctly.

  1. When casting audio, the audio is working okay.
  2. The volume buttons still work. When using the reset command, the screen has no response, but the audio message still plays, "You're about to completely reset this device. Release to cancel."

Subsequent software updates did not seem to resolve the issue. When the mic switch is on, the display returns to normal.

(This issue only occurs when plugging in the Nest Hub while the mic switch is off.)

Hi KiwiBird97,

That’s odd. But I wanted to clarify that the Google Nest Hub works fine if it is powered on with the mic switched on. Is that right? Can you share a video (as an attachment or a link) so we can further look into it? Also, kindly provide the Cast firmware and Fuchsia version of your Google Nest Hub device. Swipe up from the bottom of the screen > Settings > Device information.

Regards,
Alex
