Hi. Google just posted an ad showing a couple at their kitchen island bench. Both are having to turn to look at the Google Nest Hub on the bench behind them. It is actually a terrible ad as it points out the main flaw of the system that has prevented me from purchasing one as our kitchen is designed the same way. Is there a reason why we cant have the Nest sitting on a charging station with a rechargeable battery in the main unit. This would enable me to bring the unit onto the island while I am working at it and talk etc. I could move it around the house as I please. Given the size of the nest it should be able to have a battery that is large enough to last the meal preparation time. What do you think? Is there a reason that Google just ignores what is such a basic design concept. What is it that I am missing here that would explain the absence of this obvious useful feature?

Nice idea! This is mostly a user to user community, therefore if this is important to you, I’d encourage you to also send this feedback directly to Google. You will not receive a response, unless Google need more details from you, however the team are still reading the feedback.
