I got a nest mini and in a day it became incredibly slow to respond. Sometimes it would take more than 10 seconds and sometimes it would say there's an error and on other times it would start working like normal. I've no idea what happened since I purchased but I hadn't changed a thing!
I tried reconnecting the cable, restarting router and factory resetting. It would start working properly for some time and then go back to being slow and unresponsive.
I checked this community and the internet for answers but couldn't find a fix even though many people are having the same issue until I found a person who suggested removing ALL previous unused devices linked with Google assistant from the Google App (not google home) in the assistant settings. It worked! Just look for devices under the Google Assistant settings in the Google Home app.
But it's not as simple as it looks.
I'm not sure why but the option to remove older unused devices wouldn't show up on the phone where I've set up the Nest mini. That option in itself wasn't there on Google Home! For some reason those devices showed up on my Samsung tablet! (good thing i checked)! I removed all of them and voila! It's blazing fast again and I haven't had an issue since!
Now your issue could be something else but you must give this a try! It mighti save you a headache as well as buyers remorse. Cheers!
