When I ask my speaker to "shut off in xx minutes or hours" it confirms that it will do so, but then does not shut off and just stays on indefinitely until I ask it to shut off right now.
I saw that there are some other similar posts about this, but was wondering when Google is pushing a new update out for the nest mini?

I have been having the same issue for several weeks now as well, possibly since a recent update. I've tried using the voice command "play sleep sounds for XX hours" which used to work, but now the sounds play indefinitely. Also tried using Spotify with a sleep timer and it does not work either. Something in the most recent update changed the sleep timer.

I also have this problem. Has there been a fix posted?

Is anyone from Google gonna address this post? Problem still occuring!
One of the main reasons I bought this speaker was to fall asleep to stand up comedy and have it shut off on its own. Wakes me up every night now since it doesn't shut off on its own...Google please respond!

Hi folks,
Thanks for the help, @MplsCustomer.
@Emacred, thanks for posting. Just to clarify, are you trying to turn off the sleep sound or sleep timer feature?
@Alicialogic, sleep sounds is working as intended. We've heard feedback that turning off sleep sounds after one hour is insufficient for some of our users, so we made the decision to remove the end time. We're currently investigating ways to build a comparable solution and we appreciate your patience
@All, with regards to the sleep timer concern, our team is already aware of this and currently investigating this issue. I suggest that you follow the main thread for updates.
Regards,
Juni

Step 1: I ask my speaker to play a Pandora station and it starts playing.
Step 2: After it starts playing I ask Google to shut off speaker in XX hours/mins and Google assistant CONFIRMS that it will do so.
And then it never shuts off until I ask Google assistant to shut off now.

I'm just another Google Nest customer, and was simply pointing out other customers have reported this same issue: namely, music doesn't stop when asked.
Perhaps, since there are numerous posts on this, this is a newly introduced defect caused when Google Nest removed the one-hour shutoff for sleep sounds.

Right, sorry MplsCustomer, I guess was directed at Juni.
And yes, seen many posts about this issue.

Hi folks,
Thanks for the details you shared. Our team is aware about sleep timers that aren’t working for turning off music at the specified time and are still working on a fix.
For ambient sound, Google made the decision to remove the end time based on user feedback. This behavior is intended, and we're currently investigating ways to build a comparable solution. Hope this helps explain!
For news and updates about sleep timers, keep an eye on the recommended answer to the main thread. If you have any other questions or concerns, feel free to start a new one for I will be locking this thread after 24 hours.
