Google Nest Mini keeps defaulting to Sirius XM: won't use Spotify

Product has been great for about a year and then all of a sudden in August, the speaker won't recognize my (free) Spotify account. Every time I ask it to play music or use the Good Morning command (play music is a task), it says, " To do that, you need a Sirius XM account" and then asks to give permissions. I don't have that as an option on my phone at all and don't have an account for that. I've removed and reset Spotify as the linked default player. I've rebooted all speakers in the house. I've deleted and changed the Good Morning command. Nothing works. Yes, I can cast using Spotify, but I can't use any commands from the speaker to play Spotify. It keeps wanting to default to Sirius XM. What am I missing? Never had this issue before. What update broke the speaker?

Hello Binarysunset,

Thanks for reaching out. Oh no! That sounds very frustrating that your Google Nest Mini is not playing the correct default music service. I understand your concern.

In order for the team to look into this issue further, I would sincerely appreciate it if you sent in feedback using the keywords,"GHT3 Music not playing from default" from either your device or the Google Home App. You can check out this article for more information on how to do so.

In the meantime, I recommend casting your audio from an app on another device to your speaker as a temporary solution as we try to resolve this issue. You could also include in the voice command the music source itself. (Example: Play music on Spotify).

I appreciate your patience as our team looks into this further and I'll keep you posted as more information becomes available. Feel free to continue sharing your feedback or any updates.
