Google Nest Mini no longer able to play music

This morning a problem has started with the Nest Mini speakers not being able to play any music.

You ask for what you want (e.g. "Hey Google, play some music"). The speaker acknowledges the command ("OK, playing some music on Youtube Music"), but then nothing happens. After about 30 seconds of no sound the speaker gives an error message ("Something went wrong, please try again", or something like that). Rebooting and factory reset of the device does not help.

I have 4 speakers and the problem affects 3 of them. The other one seems totally normal. If you start playing music on that device and then ask for it to be transferred to one of the devices that doesn't work, it says it will do it but then the same thing happens (30 seconds of nothing followed by an error message).

Just setup a new mini today to test it out before replacing all Apple & Alexa devices in my home. Setup went fine but I have this same issue when trying to play any music. It’s linked to my paid Apple Music account and even confirms that it will play “X” on Apple Music, but then the same outcome as you.

As usual this glitch fixed itself for me after about a day with no explanation. Hope yours also works again now.
