Google Nest Mini stopped announcing reminders

Hello,

My Nest Mini has stopped announcing reminders. I have contacted google regarding this and have removed device in home app, factory reset the nest mini. Set reminders using both the voice command and also the Google assistant app. Still have the same issue. I contacted Google again and whilst on the phone re-done all the settings, deleted and re added my reminders. Added a reminder for 30 seconds later so Google can see if it worked. It did so that was all the help Google gave me telling "seeing as that worked, the rest of my reminders will work". Yep and the following day the nest mini stopped announcing my reminders. Now not even a light comes on when I am supposed to have a reminder. I have unplugged my router and the nest mini waited 30 seconds and plugged them back in, still having the same problem. Can anyone help with this please?

Thanks for reaching out. I understand that receiving task reminders on your Google Nest Mini is crucial for you. Can you please confirm if you have set up all your reminders on the Nest Mini? Also, how many Nest speakers or displays do you have?

 

Please note that if you create a reminder on your mobile device or calendar, it will not be broadcasted on your Nest speaker or display. Moreover, reminders only work on the speaker or display that you created them on.

Thank you for your reply. Yes I have set my reminders up on my Nest mini, and I only have one Nest speaker.

Hi there,

 

Thanks for the information. Let's go ahead and toggle off or on the notification settings for reminders on the Google Home app. Follow the steps below to learn how:

 

  1. Make sure the customer's mobile device is connected to the same WiFi or linked to the same account as the speaker.
  2. Open the Google Home app
  3. At the top right, tap the account icon.
  4. Verify that the Google Account shown is the one linked to the Google Home. To switch accounts, tap another account or Add another account.
  5. Go back to home view.
  6. Tap the device card of the preferred speaker.
  7. At the top right, tap Settings > Notifications and digital wellbeing.
  8. Tap the slider to toggle notifications on or off.

Yes both on the same network, same Google account, and have toggled the notification settings on and off. Still the same mate

Still no contact and the issue still not resolved. Now thinking it is time to forget google and Go back to amazon.

Hi Alex, received my replacement on the 30/12/2023 set it up added my reminders through voice on the nest mini and today I get the same problem the nest mini wont announce reminders. this is becoming a joke now!

Hi Alex,

Thank you for your reply, after sending numerous videos and following all what the techs told me to do, we are still going around in circles and the techs are refusing to accept that this problem exists. This is now getting so frustrating it is not funny! Yes when asking the Nest "what are my reminders" it tells me that I have a certain amount of reminders (which are more than double that I have set) then tells me three of them. Yet I still have the same problem that the nest mini doesn't announce the reminders at the scheduled times! I am now left wondering if this problem will ever get solved or am I just wasting my time due to the techs not knowing what they are doing?

Would you also please let me know how I can file a formal complaint regarding this issue please?
