Google Nest Speaker set up

BEG181

I have a Google Nest Mini 2nd generation which I want to set up.

I have a 1st generation SE iPhone which is updated to the last available iOS of 15.8.4.

I have three other Nest speakers installed in the house.

I find I cannot install the last Nest speaker unless I have iOS 16 or later.

Is there any way to install this speaker or do I have to throw it in the bin?

Thank you.

Unfortunately, Apple does not support its 1st gen iPhone SE (released in 2016) beyond iOS 15, and Google Nest requires iOS 16 or later. iOS 16 came out in Sept. 2022; we're on iOS 18.6.1.

You'll need an iPhone or iPad that has iOS 16 or later, or an Android phone at 9.0 or later. I suppose you could borrow someone else's phone to do the install, but I don't know if you'd have problems later when using the Nest Mini on your iPhone SE.

@MplsCustomer , thank you for the reply and the links.

I did wonder if I could use another phone to set up the Nest speaker.

I’ll give that a try and see how I go.
Thanks again.
