Our Google Nest Wifi speaker reduces the sound volume level on its own.
That's it really.
A few minutes after saying "Hey Google play music," setting the volume where we want it, the volume of the speaker sounds decreases on its own, without us doing anything.
How do we fix this?

Hey, Captain_Eric.
Sorry for the volume issues you're having on your WiFi speaker. That sounds frustrating and I will be happy to help you sort that out. Let's take a look at things. I do have some questions that might help us sort it out.
If you can let me know a few more details, I'm sure we can get this figured out. I'm looking forward to hearing back. Thanks.

This speaker in one of two nest speakers.
Is it defective?

Hey, Captain_Eric.
Thanks for following up with those added details. It helps me eliminate some of the common factors that can cause this. Looking at the situation, I'm going to go ahead and refer your case to an internal team here. We'll get some more eyes on this and I'll get back to you as soon as I know more.
Thanks.

So, someone will be contacting me? How?
10-14-2021 02:58 PM
For now I'll continue working with you with the added support team, but if we need to, someone will reach out if they need specific information about your device. I'll let you know which direction that will go soon.
Thanks.

Hey, Captain_Eric.
Just as a quick heads up, there will actually be someone from an internal team here reaching out to you. I don't have an exact estimate on time, but they will be using the email address to reach you that you use for the forums. They will gather more specific info on this care to look deeper into things.
Thanks.

Hey, Captain_Eric.
It's been a while since I checked in, so I figured I would drop by real fast and let you know that I'm still waiting for more information on this. I was curious if you had any luck making progress on this in the meantime.
Thanks.

Hi, Captain_Eric.
Hopefully you've been able to make some progress on this, but I do have one more thing from our internal team for you to check. In the My Activity setting, check to see if there are any additional accounts assigned to your setup. It's common when an additional account is assigned to the setup, volume can be accidentally adjusted by those accounts through normal device usage (such as someone else's cell phone's volume keys).
If you don't have any accounts, we can rule that out at this time.
Thanks.

In a word, no.
11-05-2021 11:40 AM
Hey, Captain_Eric.
I passed on to our team that multiple accounts is not an issue and I'm waiting for more steps to try or things to check. I'll update when I know more.
Thanks.

Hey, Captain_Eric.
It's been a few days, but I wanted to let you know that I'm still waiting on a response from our internal teams on this. I didn't want you to think that I had abandoned the thread. Hopefully we have news soon.
Thanks.

OK.

Hi, I had the same problem, sound decreases on its own, after I've added BT speakers. Hard reset solved the problem only that way - now the sound goes up on its own. No matter if I say command, use knobs, app or screen. It looks like the sound level is fixed on level when I added the BT speakers. I have no such problem when I use the BT speaker - the sound level is where I want it to be.

Thanks for posting. It's good to know others have the same problems. It could be many! Probably is.
For what it is worth, I don't have any Bluetooth speakers connected to the Nest anywhere, so it's just the Google Nest WIFI point that is my problem.
Heck for all the time and hassle and waiting it would be better if they just sent me a new one!

Hi again,
I think I've solved (temporaly) the problem with my nest hub. First I've deleted all my speakers groups and for 15 minutes and I had 15 minutes of the same sound level (no 47% as before). I thought that was it. No unwanted self decreases or increases for that moment. Unfortunatelly afterall again came back. So I decided to make last time third factory reset (with both volume knobs pressed for 10 sec). No speakers groups, no BT speakers added. And for now it seem's to be ok with volume level. I think the problem is when You try to make some speakers group or with pairing BT speakers. Try the same, delete all speakers groups if You have any. It's firmware problem, no hardware, I think. Somehow the volume level is fixed at some level (maybe when hub connects to BT speakers or You make speakers group).

Thanks for posting.
But I've tried all that, resetting etc.
And I don't have Speaker Groups nor Bluetooth.
So, I await a fix, patiently (sorta, it's been a looonnnnng wait), from Google.
Something is wrong here.

Hey, Captain_Eric.
I know it's been a while and I'm sure this has been quite frustrating for you. We've tried to reproduce the issue on our side for some time, and we have not been able to do so. Are you still seeing this happen with your device, or has anything changed at all with the situation? Let me know if anything has improved or if it's stayed the same.
Thanks.

Hi, everyone.
Just one quick final check in here since activity has slowed down. We'll be locking the thread in the next 24 hours, but if you still need help, I would be happy to keep it open. If there's more we can do, just let me know.
Thanks.

Yikes. So this is how it goes? You drag it out, seeming to take my concern seriously, then poof close the thread? As I recall, "the ball is in your court." I'm waiting on you.

Hi folks,
Since this thread hasn't had activity in a while, we're going to close it to keep content fresh.
If you're still having trouble, feel free to submit another post and provide as many details as possible so that others can lend a hand.
Thanks,
Alex
