Google Nest's bluetooth turns off randomly.

I've posted about this issue before but was on vacation and couldn't test things properly.

My google Nest that's set up at home will randomly disconnect everything from bluetooth randomly. I'll be listening to music from my iphone to the nest, and it'll just disconnect. Sometimes it'll take 4 hours, sometimes 30 seconds. Nothing I've tested seems to trigger the disconnect. I've reset it, tried updating both devices ect.

What I have discovered however is that it's a problem with the nest, after it disconnects from my phone, my wife's iphone can't even find it while trying to pair to bluetooth devices.

Hi OlavGrey,

Thanks for visiting the Community.

I'm sorry to hear that you're experiencing this issue with your Google Nest speaker. I appreciate all the efforts you've made so far to resolve it. Before we start some steps, I'd like to verify a few things:

  • How many Google Nest speakers are experiencing the same issue with Bluetooth?
  • What devices are you trying to connect with your Google Nest speakers? (i.e. Android/iOS phone or tablet)
  • How far is your phone from your Google Nest speaker when using Bluetooth?

We'd love to know more of this so we can start some steps.

Keep us posted.

Best,

Princess

We only own one nest speaker. I use an iPhone 11, my wife uses an iPhone 13 Pro. My phone usually is a foot or 2 away as I use it while cooking.

Hey there,

Thanks for the additional details. Aside from your iPhone, have you tried connecting your speaker to a different phone like an Android phone or tablet?

Best,

Princess

I don't have access to any other phone types. Everyone I know only uses iPhone. And we don't own a tablet.

Hello OlavGrey,

Thanks for responding. It would be very helpful to try connecting your Google Nest speaker to a different device so we can isolate the issue further. Also, are there any walls between your devices that might cause interruption on its connectivity?

Best,

Princess
