@MarieRenner-71

You need to have an Internet connection and a home Wi-Fi network for your Nest Hub to work. I'm confused by what you really have. You say you have "no Internet at home" but you also say you "use 5g Internet through Verizon".

we have just the cell phone Internet like whenyou are away from your home Internet... no actual cable or land line Internet...

@MarieRenner-71

If you only have Verizon's cell phone service and do NOT have Verizon's 5g Home Internet service (https://www.verizon.com/5g/home/), which provides you with a Wi-Fi router for your home, then your Nest Hub is not going to work, because you don't have internet access at your home.  If you have more than one phone or tablet and could set up one as a hot spot, you could then connect your Nest Hub to that hot spot, but that is cumbersome, requires that the "hot spot" phone or tablet be close to your Nest Hub, and would use cellular data for anything done on the Nest Hub.

yes... it was set up by hot spot and was working until he went to Veeizon for a phone problem...

@MarieRenner-71

The simplest thing to do is to make sure that you're using the same network name (SSID) and password for your hot spot that you were previously using. If you're using a different network name (SSID and password), then that's a Wi-Fi network change for the Nest Hub, and you first want to remove the Nest Hub from the old hot spot.

If you can't do that, you may need to do a factory reset of your Nest Hub:
