Google Nest

We’re having trouble playing a local radio station (CBC Radio One Edmonton) through our Google Nest devices. When we ask it to play that station it comes up with a different radio station. The odd time it works and plays it but that is rare.

Hello @gamichaud

Thanks for reaching out to our Nest Community. I apologize for all the inconvenience of controlling your radio station. Don't worry; I'm happy to assist you with this situation.

Certainly this is not normal behavior on our Google devices. Let´s try to find a solution for this.

You can try the next steps:

  • Ask for the station in a different way. For example, if the name didn't work, try the call sign or frequency.
  • Add more specific information, such as 'on [radio service]', to your request.
  • When you use the frequency, add the name of a nearby city.

With this your device need to play your favorite radio station.

Feel free to keep us posting, I'm here in case you need more assistance.

Kind regards,

Douglas.

Hi, I have taken your suggestion and asked Google to play the radio station by saying the following:  "Hey Google, play CBC Radio One Edmonton 93.9 FM"  this worked HOWEVER Google came back with "playing CBS Radio One TuneIn.  HOWEVER, again; I tried it a little while later and it wouldn't play it at all.  It came back with "Sorry I don't understand" then again with played some other radio station all together after another try.  Not sure what to try now.  🤷‍♂️ Gary
