Google Pixel Tablet with Charging Speaker Dock Hey Google & Voice Match” issues

Recently purchased the new Google Pixel Tablet with Charging Speaker Dock to use with all of my google devices at home. I’m trying to turn on the “Hey google” assistant function but every time I select it to turn on it straight away displays an error “Trouble Connecting, check your connection and try again”, shortly followed by “ While driving you can still use Hey Google” after I hit dismiss option.
