Google Speaker Group Not working with Chromecast Enabled Device

My JBL (with Chromecast) is added to the "Home Speaker" group however it will not play while the others will. Any thoughts? It does have the latest firmware. This is NOT the same issue from the Sono litigation since my speaker just literally won't play even though it is part of the groups.

Hello BamaBillyP,

 

Thanks for bringing this up. Sorry to hear that your JBL speaker is not playing music when included in the speaker group. To confirm, are you able to play music on the speaker alone? How far is your JBL speaker from the router? Are you able to cast music from your phone to your JBL speaker? What is the current cast firmware version of speaker?

 

Let's try these steps below:

 

  1. Move your JBL speaker within 15-20 ft. away from the router to get enough signal from your network.
  2. Reboot your JBL speaker, Google Home speaker, and router by disconnecting them from the power source and leave them unplugged for 1 minute. Once done, plug them back one at a time with intervals.
