A really weird issue. If I say Google play BBC Radio 1 it will play on my google speaker. If I ask it to play BBC Radio 1 (or any BBC stations) on Beoplay M5, it has silence. If I ask it to play Capital, or spotify on speaker it works fine.
I have deleted speaker tried loads. I can play BBC radio through the Beo App, or BBC sounds to the Beoplay. Im baffled. Any thoughts appeciated

Hi owaind6,
Thanks for reaching out and providing detailed information on your issue and the steps that you've taken—these are of great help!
A few things: Are you able to play other radio stations? Which Nest speaker are we working with? Is this how you did the reset? Do you have another Bluetooth speaker that you can use just to further isolate the issue?
I look forward to your response.
Regards,
Juni

Hey owaind6,
Chiming in to ensure everything is covered here. It looks like the issue is isolated to your Beoplay M5 speaker. To confirm, have you tried calling the speaker manufacturer to check if they are getting similar reports? Also, could you tell us the specific command that you're using when playing BBC stations from the Google Home Mini to your M5 speaker?
I'll wait to your response.
Cheers,
Muddi

I have indeed spoken to them - they are baffled! So I thought I would try here. Initially Google did ‘something’ or it was the radio streamer did something that restricted it - TuneIn I think got blocked by bbc. Hence query here

Hey owaind6,
I understand. Since the issue is isolated with your Beoplay M5 speaker it is best if they can take a look at this issue. Could you share with us the specific command that you are using when requesting your Home Mini to play BBC on M5 speaker?
Cheers,
Muddi

Hi owaind6,
Thanks for responding. Since this is isolated only on one station, it would be best to reach out to the manufacturer of your other speaker so they can provide more info about it.
Best,

This was reply from b&o eventually. They have not updated firmware!
On January 3rd 2022, we have updated a large part of our portfolio to Google's mandatory new update of Chromecast and Google Home. The Beoplay M5 was not part of the line of products that received this update. Whilst Google's functionality such as Chromecast is still performing on your Beoplay M5, we started observing market issues with certain 3rd party apps.

Hey owaind6,
Sorry to know the speaker manufacturer stopped providing an update to your speaker, and Google doesn't have control of it. Moving forward, you still have your Google speakers - enjoy moving or transferring media from one Google speaker to another.
Let us know if you have additional concerns or questions, otherwise; I'll lock the thread after 24 hours.
