Speaker won't connect to my Spotify from android Phone

I play Spotify through my phone and sometimes I like to play it through my speaker in my living room.  My Google nest Mini is fine in the bedroom, but the one in the living room won't connect.  I normally say 'hey Google, play my Spotify music' when it won't connect.  But lately i've had to say it more then once (four times today) before pulling the plug out and waiting a few minutes.  Still it wouldn't play, I'm tearing my hair out wondering if it's developed a fault, everything I touch seems to develop a fault.

can you advise me please?  Is it because of an update it won't play from my phone to speaker?

Please try to maximize the hotword sensitivity of your Living room speaker. If that does not resolve the issue, perform a factory reset on the device and set it up again.

I go into the home app and cast from there,  but the volume isn't so loud.
