Google Wifi device blocking Sonos speakers

Caracol

Good morning to all,

I am reaching out, as I have no more ideas/options, and hoping to get some support.

In my house, I have installed 4 Google Mesh Wifi devices, and this provides a strong network in all corners of my house. As you can imagine, I have many connected devices.

I initially installed my Sonos Arc with two surround sound Sonos One SL speakers. This installation was last year November over the wifi network, and once all devices are installed, you pair these speakers into a surround sound setup.  This worked fine until about 3 weeks back, where every day now, my Sonos Arc keeps losing connection.

I have spent days with the Sonos support team to try every trick in the book, yes we can get them initially connected, and sometimes even paired .... but only for a very short time, whereafter the devices lose connection to the network. Based on the device logs sent to Sonos, they could identify the Google Mesh WiFi blocking traffic from the Sonos. (My devices (wifi and Sonos) are all in the same room, only meters apart.)

Have anyone else experienced something similar? and/or can you provide any advice?

All I have from spending days with Sonos engineers is that I either connect the devices with ethernet (not an option) or contact Google for support with the device.

Thanks for your time.

Hi, Caracol.

Sorry for the difficulty you've had with your Sonos and WiFi setup. That sounds really frustrating and confusing to deal with. Also, thanks for letting me know what troubleshooting you've already tried. We have seen some other community members seeing issues with Sonos setups, so someone might chime in with some ideas soon. In the meantime, there is a new firmware update rolling out for the Nest and Google WiFi systems. The new firmware may help clear up your issue, but in the meantime I'll look into what might be happening here and see if I can find a fix for you.

Thanks.

Hi Jeff,

Thanks for your response and support. Unfortunately this is not moving forward. I have spent about 5 hours on calls with Google Wifi support on the weekend, and we simply cannot get the Sonos ARC connected.

I am at the end of my patience now, and have purchased a new Wifi Mesh system from Linksys.... praying i dont face similar issues with this device, as then it clearly points at the Sonos speakers, rather than the Google Wifi.

With the above steps taken, I would recommend we stop the investigation .... Thanks for your help.
