I have a group called "upstairs stereo" with 4 devices. It's worked perfectly for a very long time. Lately when you give a command like "play wrfx on upstairs stereo" it comes back and says "would you like to play that on upstairs stereo or upstairs stereo?". I tell it "upstairs stereo" and it says it can't find upstairs stereo. Do the whole thing over again repeating the group and then it works. I've also deleted and recreated the group. There is nothing in my Google Home setup named even close to that group name. It's also our only speaker group. One other thing it went back to working correctly for a week or two then magically went back to messing up again. Any suggestions?

Been dealing with this for weeks. Tried deleting the groups and creating new ones but instead Google Assistant just adds the new group to the batch so I'm up to 3 "Home Groups" when I ask it to play something although the home app only shows one actual group. Needless to say, the assistant won't play on anything because it's confused

I have two households and it does the problematic repetitive speaker request in both. Likewise, everything worked with any speaker group until weeks ago when this strange response became an annoyance. She is growing tired of me cursing and demeaning her I think. I worry about some retaliation on her part.
But seriously one would think that the Google Home and Nest people would have worked out these numerous inconsistencies and glitches quickly.

I have the exact same issue. I deleted my groups and readded them which fixed it temporarily, but it seems to have reoccured.
