Google home and mini will not cast to chromecast

Blen

Anyone having any issues getting anything to cast from your Google home or mini to a chromecast?  I can play a radio station on the device so I know that the home and mini are working, but it will not cast.  I can cast from my phone and an app to the chromecast in question, so I know the connection and the chromecast are working.  It all worked well before, but no longer.  Any suggestions?

Fixed!  I used the Home app to 'remove device' and then added it back.  I should have thought of that after all the other checks I did.  Thanks everyone for your help.  When in doubt, remove and add back.  🙂

What kind of content are you asking it to cast? What's the phrase you're trying to use?

Hi.  I'm trying to play a radio station I've been playing for a long time.

I say 'hey google, play easy 93.1 on house speaker'.  It replies, 'playing easy 93.1 from audacy on house speaker'.  I've also tried a station from TuneIn and a station from IHeart to make sure it's not them.

It will play on the device itself no problems.  I have a home and two minis.  I've tried all three.  They all play on the device, but not on the chromecast.

I can cast to my chromecast from my phone/app.  I can go into the Home app and select 'play music' for house speaker and it plays (from youtube music).

It appears that all of the parts are working, the devices just can't cast to my chromecast.  😞

Is your Chromecast linked to your speakers?

It's a chromecast audio device.  It's on the same wifi network/5g.  I've verified that in the Home app for all four devices (home, two minis, audio chromecast).
