Google home app and nest max and cameras

Ok, for weeks ive tried to get my google nest max cameras back online, tried to login to philips hue and more.

You wont do it on new phones i have the Samsung galaxy S21+ and the better Samsung galaxy S21 Ultra.

You dont think there is much difference? There is a big firmware difference and google are not doing anything about it. Further more the google home app for android is held together with duck tape....

Tonight after weeks of not being able to get 2 of my nest hum max devices setup correctly, i switched back to the older model if you like to call it that, and while it was not easy i was able to set up the 2 nest hub max once more, and when finally set up i could then switch back to my s21 ultra and use them

Things i found  you need to remove the device thats not working and pretend you just bought it.

So remove the kitchen nest max from the home app, then switch the power off to the nest max and back on.

Load the home app, oh btw if you have several nest hum max devices you need to remove them all, then unplug them all, the start the setup on one only.

So i have 2 nest max devices, i call them kitchen and livingroom.

Remove kitchen from home app, remove Livingroom from home app and unplug power to both the Livingroom and kitchen. Funny thing is, they dont loose the name i gave.

So switch on kitchen, when its booting up load the home app, the device should show its name at the top of the screen under your homes name, if its there click on it to set it up.

You get to a place where it wants to scan a bar code, that could be the camera or the first set up i forget now.

Do not scan the bar code , select the skip and you will be asked to enter the number shown on the display, enter the number.

Almost done will show, if it fails, dont worry, go back and remove the device once more, switch it off once more and start again as if just out of the box.

The google servers are bad, they can miss you and you think the device is faulty, just go back to the Google home screen, and if the display is saying you need to link your account, just use your phones button to close all, re load home app, take a look at the bottom of your room list to see if it was added but you were not told.

If its there outside a room, it will not work, it must be added to your home and a room in your home. It can sometimes skip the home select, if it does just select the room you want it in.

Sorry this is a bit confusing, but the setup on some phones will not work at all, or parts work and other parts dont.

At first on my ultra phone the QR code was on the display but the phone would not put on the scan, even if it puts on the scan you only need to catch a little bit of the QR code on the display and it will continue, but it then fails, you must forget the scan and enter the number and letters.

I found my phones camera would no longer scan QR codes, people will tell you to go download a QR code scanner app, dont do it, try to get it to work, because if it dont work, you will not be able to setup a nest max.

The whole system is bad, if you had it working on an old phone, switch that phone back on if you still got it, or borrow the same make and model.

I cannot believe how bad this system is when you start adding lots of things, like smart life, philips hue, and more then it all falls apart.

Good luck, if it dont work first time, go back to the day you first got it out of the box, tven setup again...

Cheers, ling live Alexa, it has some problems, but not as many as the google home and its devices.

Update

Now a new Samsung s22 ultra cannot be used by a house member, person is added but when trying to finish the setup for the new member it says no wifi connection, so no second voice can be added.

Google get this app updated, who are you employing to update the app? They walked out as weather too hot?
