Google home command not working for wife

I have Wyze lights in my bedroom, they are controlled by either the Wyze app, or Google devices "Hey Google, turn on/off bedroom lights".  This verbal command works 100% of the time for me.  However, when my wife attempts to perform the same task it says Wyze is unavailable, though on the display it will pull up the on/off button she can press, this of course only works on the Google display, the mini pods she is out of luck.  If I try it immediately after, it works just fine.  I have removed Wyze and added it back with no success.  This randomly started a couple of months ago, it used to work just fine for her for well over a year.

We're sorry to hear about this experience. Let's sort things out by answering these questions:

 

  • Is your wife's account linked to your Google Nest speakers?
  • Have you made any changes on your Google Nest settings before you experienced this?
  • What's the exact response of your speakers after your wife's command?

Let's make sure that your wife's account is added as a home member on your home structure. Here's the steps on how to add a home member:

 

  1. Open the Google Home app Google Home app.
  2. If you have more than one home, tap Favorites .
  3. At the top, select the home you want to edit.
  4. Tap Settings Settings icon and then Add Add and then Home member.
  5. Enter the name or email address of the person you want to invite to your home.
  6. Tap Next.
    • The person you invite should receive an email with instructions.
  7. Tap Next.
    • Review the person’s access to your home.
  8. Tap Send.
  9. If your Google Family Group isn’t full and the person you’re inviting isn’t already in one, you should get the option to invite them to your Google Family Group.
    • To invite them, tap Add to Family.
    • To skip this step, tap No Thanks.

The person you invite should receive an email with instructions.

Tips:

  • You can have up to 6 members in a Google Family Group.
  • If the person you want to invite has already requested to join your home, instead of sending a new invitation, you need to accept that request.
