Google home nest mini second hand and hackers

Camale
Community Member

I bought a second-hand Google Home Nest Mini, as I dint find it anywhere in the shops and I want to know if it could be bugged by a hacker and how to ensure that it is not the case. I am worried that someone could hear me.

Can someone help me?

Hi, @Camale,

Thank you so much for reaching out to the community. I completely understand you want to protect your device and not be exposed by any hack. No worries about it. I can assure you that Google protects the information and devices of its customers.

Since it’s a second-hand device, I highly recommend you perform a factory reset to the speaker and set it up on the Google Home app under your account. This is to ensure you will have control over the device, and it will also make it forget all the default information.

For further information, you can refer to the privacy and terms policies. There you may learn more about how Google protects your information.

Feel free to reply if you have any questions.

Best regards,

Ana
