Google home not answering the first time

My google home won’t answer the first time, it’s close to my router and I’ve restarted it. I’m very dissapointed last time someone LOCKED my post because I didn’t respond straight away.

Hey Ninny_250,

Thanks for sharing details about the issue. My apologies for the late response here.

I know how challenging it can be when you're having issues with your Google Home device. We're here to help! A few questions: when did the issue start? How many Google Home devices do you have? What type of connection do you have (Private or Public network)? Are you using a dual-band router?

Please try these steps below:

  1. Reboot your Google Home and router by disconnecting them from the power source and leave them unplugged for 1 minute. Once done, plug them back one at a time with intervals.
  2. If you have a dual-band router, try setting up your speaker or display on both the 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands.

Let me know if that works.

Cheers,

Muddi

Hey Ninny_250,

Thanks for trying. To further isolate network issues, please try setting up your device using a mobile hotspot. Please note that you will need two mobile devices for this setup (one will serve as a router and the other to be used to set up your Google Home device. Also, please check the current firmware version of your speaker by following the steps below:

  1. Open the Google Home app .
  2. Tap the device card of the preferred speaker or display.
  3. At the top-right, tap Settings Settings and then Device information.
  4. Under Technical information, find Cast firmware:X.XXX.XXXXX.

Keep us posted.

Cheers,

Muddi
