Google home not updating NPR programs

When I say play the news, my first program is Up First from NPR.  As of last week, Google news is no longer able to access the newest episodes.
I also tried going through the npr app on my iPhone and don’t see a chromecast button. Is there a way to access the programming from this app on the home max or other smart speakers.

I am having the same difficulty! Up First has always been the first program I listen to in the morning, and my speakers no longer seem to know how to access episodes despite the fact that I haven't changed any settings. How do we fix this, Google?

Hi folks,

Thanks for reaching out to our community.

It's strange that you're not able to play the latest episodes of Up First. Let's see what we can do to fix it.

Have you had any trouble accessing these episodes on other devices besides your Google speakers?

My first recommendation is to make sure news from NPR is enabled on your speaker.

Here's how you can do it:

  • Open the Google Home app.
  • Tap your account icon.
  • Verify that the Google Account shown is the one linked to your Google device.
  • Tap Settings > Google Assistant > Manage all Assistant settings > News.
  • You should be able to see NPR news listed. If not, tap to add it.

You can also try removing and re-adding NPR news to ensure the station is properly linked.

Let me know how it goes.

Regards,

Angel.
