Google home sunrise alarm room light option not working

I have 4 Mirabella Genio smart downlights in my bedroom that are compatible with google home.  

I want to set them up to be used with my morning alarm.  I am trying to use them with the sunrise alarm/gentle wake feature under the room lights option. They appear there and I can select them but they will not turn on when my alarm starts. The lights work fine in any other scenario except for this

Sorry to hear about the issues you're having setting up the lights, I understand it may be frustrating, but I'm happy to look into this for you. 

Have you tried getting this set up with using Routines? I would suggest reviewing that article to see if that helps with what you're wanting.
