Google hub suddenly start showing advertising??

After talking to his wife about washing clothes, it suddenly  Google Hub turned on and start showing advertising for 

washing powder.

I don't think it's normal for Google to eavesdrop on the user like this.

This is the first time this has happened to me in three years since I've had it.

Thanks for sharing details about the issue here. It's strange that your Google Nest Hub is showing an advertisement. A few questions: how often does it happen? Are you watching or listening to a video/music? Have you tried resetting your Nest display?

I haven't noticed this until now, but I haven't reset it because otherwise the thing works fine.

But I didn't watch or listen to anything via YT at the time.

I think the hub listened and then showed a suitable commercial, because unfortunately there are no coincidences.

But I have a suggestion that they make a microphone on the screen that appears when the subject is active, ex. like on a phone on android 13.

Also, I agree that it may respond or activate when it hears a word similar to the wake word but should not be as often as possible.
