I have  a google max speaker along with

4 other google and nest speakers.
my max speaker constantly looses connection. No other devices loose the connection. The speaker is not far from a mesh device.  Once I unplug and reconnect the plug it regains the connection

I have the same issue, have you heard back yet on a possible fix?  I have tried to reset it but the issue still happens.  to the point that I moved the plug so I can power it down and back up easier.

Same issue.  Fixed by setting up an old Access Point and connecting to it.  Google Devices don't play nice with Mesh Wifi.  People are having issues with Google's mesh!

Hi everyone,

Thanks for visiting the Community.

We're sorry to hear about your experience on connecting your Google Home Max speakers to your network. We appreciate all the details you've shared as well as the steps done.

Can anyone confirm if all of you are using Google Nest Wifi devices? We'd like to further check what's causing this to happen.

Best,

Princess

Had this issue with Eero and TP-Link Mesh systems.

I did have the Google mesh. Now Eero 6.   It happened on both. But more often now with Eero.

Hey everyone,

Thanks for responding. Have you already contacted Eero to check with them if there are any firmware updates released from their end?

I get auto updates.  just checked and no update.  everything else works fine just the one speaker.  I have a mini (don't use that often) and display that streams a lot on.  neither one has the issue.  also 2 google chromecast with google tv.  also stream a lot on both, also no issues.

Hi everyone,

Thanks for the additional info you've provided. Could you please provide the following info?

  1. How far is your Google Nest speakers from your main router?
  2. How far is your Google Nest Speakers from the access points?

Let's go ahead and try to move the speakers closer to the main router and observe if it will disconnect. Do the same with the access points and let's check if it will disconnect.

Let us know how it goes.

Best,

Princess

It's not an Eero issue, it's a GOOGLE issue in the way their devices behave on MESH systems (including GOOGLE's).  My MAX has been rock solid every since changing it over to the old Access Point (NO MESH).

I'm about 20ft from the MESH AP.  I'm ~25ft from the NON-MESH AP.  The Wifi signal is 5 bars for the MESH and 2 bars for the AP.  The MAX disconnects multiple times a day on the MESH, and has yet (2 weeks) to disconnect on the AP.  I have tried Both 2.4 only and 5.0mhz only on the MESH and the results are the same.
