Google meet with chromebook

My granddaughter has a chromebook and we have a Google Hub Max. We are trying to see if there is a way for her to use the wi-fi in her house to video talk with us throughour Hub. We have always been able to have video calls with her through my son's phone but wondering if there is a way to do this through her chromebook. We did it a couple days ago but had to do it  by him inviting us using a code. Is that the only way or is there a simpler way that she can do it herself?
