Google mini nest connection

Hi im trying to connect my google nest mini to the Google home android app. It is connected with wifi network and it seems discoverable in the app but just before the setup is competed this message appears: "app update required your version of google home is out of date and requires update ". I already have installed the latest version 2.56.1.11 , i cleared app cache, reinstalled the app,  hard reset nest, changed language , tried different phone ,but nothing seems to work. Any ideas?? Thank you.

Thanks for reaching out — let's see what's going on.

 

What phone are you using? If you're using an Android, make sure your phone system, Google App and Google Play Services app are updated. Also, rebooting your phone might work too after updating it.

Sorry for the delay im on vacation! I used two xiaomi android 11 smartphones and both asked for update on google home app. The strange thing about that is that i already had the latest version (checked on playstore). Google play services also updated cleared cache ect ect.

Have you tried using a different phone other than what you have? Checking your phone's system update might help too.

Hi just returned from vacations and the problem remains. Google home app is updated to 2.57.1.8 and still cannot finish the setup as the app seems outdated!!!! I tried two different fully updated phones, changed routers wifi setting's, hard reset nest but nothing seems to work. Solid blue lights appears top of the speaker and then nothing. I really think it's broken 😞  😞

Good morning. The new nest mini I bought works perfectly so as i suspected the old one is firmware bricked. Anyone knows any use for this, I mean the hardware is ok (speaker, button ect) can i use it as speaker for laptop or pc or just send it for recycling??
