Google nest 2nd not playing music through Bluetooth

Pedrowalk

My nest hub used to output music to my Bluetooth speaker setup but now refuses to.

Will show connected and Bluetooth set to audio output but still plays from the device.

It worked perfectly to begin with but some time in the last year guessing an update now means it won't work.

I have tried

Repair

Reset nest hub

Reset router

Reset Bluetooth speaker etc etc

All other devices (phones tablets etc) connect abd output fine from Bluetooth system.

I have seen numerous threads on here and elsewhere about the same issue and no fix ever suggested..

Posting again in the vain hope someone, anyone at Google will listen... After ruining there own product!

Hi @Pedrowalk,

Thanks for posting here in the community. I'm sorry to hear your Google Nest Hub 2Gen isn't playing music through Bluetooth. I'm happy to help!

To better understand the situation, I'd like to ask a few questions:

  • When did the inconvenience start?
  • Are there error messages?
  • Does the  Google Nest Hub have enough power?
  • Is the Google Nest Hub already set up and does it work?

In the meantime, let's check a few things:

  • Check for Updates: Ensure your Nest Hub and Bluetooth speaker are running the latest software.
  • Check for Interference: Move the Nest Hub and Bluetooth speaker closer together to reduce interference.

Keep me posted.

Regards,

Melany

Google has been aware of this issue for several years now and love to lock the threads that complain about their bad bluetooth implementation. Nothing bluetooth will remain synced with the Google Nest Mini. Doesn't matter what generation the model is, they did not improve the bluetooth functionality and in my opinion have either intentionally crippled it or can't bring themselves to admit that the hardware is bad and will never improve. They have been promising fixes for years, offering the same dumb list of suggestions over and over, promising the team is "aware and working on it", all the while knowing that they are indeed not going to fix it, nor will acknowledge their failure to do so.
