Google nest constantly disconnecting from wifi

Anybody else getting problems with their nest audio constantly getting disconnected from wifi? I have to hard reset  my nest anytime I want to use it. It’s getting extremely frustrating and making me never want to buy google products again 😡

Getting ready to sell this thing and switch to Alexa and recommend everyone not to buy google products as it seems to be a common issue with them 🤷‍♀️

Hi Arynnb,

Thanks for posting in the community! I'm sorry to hear your Nest Audio keeps disconnecting from the Wi-Fi network. Help’s here!

I understand how frustrating this situation can be. To better investigate the inconvenience, I’d like to ask the following:

  • Has Google Home ever successfully connected to this network before?
  • How did you first notice the connectivity issue?
  • Did the device reconnect automatically, or only after a reset?
  • How many times have you experienced this inconvenience?
  • Are there any other Nest speakers in your home? If so, what is the configuration of the affected speaker?
    • Is it a single speaker or part of a stereo pair?
    • Is it grouped with other devices?
    • Are other speakers experiencing similar issues?
  • What's the firmware version of the affected speaker and other speakers in the home?
  • Have there been any recent changes to your Wi-Fi network, or was it working fine before?

Since you mentioned resetting Nest Audio. Could you please elaborate on the reset steps you followed? Additionally, to troubleshoot the issue, let's assess Nest Audio's surroundings for any possible interference. I recommend the following steps:

  • Check for interference: Identify any devices that might be interfering with your Wi-Fi signal, such as cordless phones or microwaves. Try relocating these devices or changing your Wi-Fi channel. For more information, refer to this article: Troubleshoot wireless interference.
  • Ensure proximity: Make sure your Nest Audio is within 15-20 feet of your Wi-Fi router for optimal connectivity.
  • Restart and update: Restart your router and check for any available firmware updates. Outdated firmware can sometimes cause connectivity issues.

Please keep me posted.

Best regards,

Jenniffer
