Hi,
My Google Nest Hub 2nd Gen was just bought one month ago, and suddenly can't connect to my home router wifi anymore, I have tried using a different router, still unable to connect. Strangely, the google nest hub can connect to my phone hotspot using mobile data. Does anyone have this issue... please help.
Thank you

Hello vcooper,
That certainly hasn't been easy for you ― let’s check this out.
Have a look at this article for more details: My speaker or display is not connecting to Wi-Fi.
About your Google Nest Hub(2nd Gen) connecting to your phone’s hotspot but not to your router, there might have been some changes to its settings. Also, unless you do factory reset on your Nest Hub(2nd Gen), it will not connect to a different router. Click this link Factory reset Google Nest or Home speakers or displays and follow the steps to revert your device back to its default and original settings. Once done, you need to set up your display again.
Turn off your phone’s cellular/mobile data, turn on bluetooth, if you have an iOS device, go to settings>Privacy>Enable local network for Google Home.
Keep me posted.
Best,
Dan

Hi Dan,
Thanks for the reply. Before I post this problem, I have tried a factory reset many times, but no luck getting the google nest hub to connect to my wifi router. I have no clue what other solution to remedy this problem.

Hi vcooper,
Ah, got it. If the factory reset didn’t help, including following the other steps by enabling your phone’s local network on your privacy settings and turning off your cellular data didn’t get you connected, there might be changes or updates that have happened to your router/modem. Are you still able to connect to another phone’s hotspot? Also, what phone are you using for the set up? Have you tried a different phone to set up your Google Nest Hub(2nd Gen)?
By the way, how about doing this? Do a sequential reboot. Reboot your modem/router first, then your display, lastly your phone. If still nothing, do a factory reset, again make sure the cellular/mobile data is off, go to your WiFi settings and see if the Nest Hub(2nd Gen) hotspot is available, connect to it first then go to your Home app and proceed with the setup.
If the issue persists, kindly access your modem/router GUI page, or contact your service provider or your modems manufacturer, change the DNS settings to 8.8.8.8 for the primary and 8.8.4.4 for the secondary. Do not enable IPv6.
Tell me how it goes.
Best,
Dan

Hi Dan,
Sorry for the late reply, yes I have tried all the options you mention, I'm using a Google Pixel 3a xl, Oneplus 5/5t, and Samsung phone...nothing works if using my wifi router brand Gryphon Connect Router and other tp-link routers. Strangely, it only works if it's connected to my mobile hotspot..but it's gonna eat up my mobile data quota. I find it strange why it works when the first time I set up the google nest hub...and it works about one week before until its display went blank of a sudden...and I did the factory reset..and that's it...won't connect anymore to my wifi.

Hi Muddi, Still not working...I ran out of ideas on how to fix this problem. Google nest hub v2 can only connect to my mobile hotspot...but not to my home wifi router. I'm planning to return the product. Thanks for the reply.
