Google nest hub displays partially wrong language

I purchased a few months ago a second gen Google Next Hub and the package came in Chinese. When setting up the device for the first time through my Google Home app (iOS) I followed the process and successfully added it to my home, and at this time the device changed over to the default language on my device and Assistant language (English).  However, after a few hours, the screen will begin showing certain items (such as the date in the picture frame) and some items in the menu in Chinese.  The assistant still responds in Spanish, but visual elements (such as asking how much is left on a timer) when it displays on the screen will show in Chinese.  The only way to solve this is completely resetting the hub, at which point it works again fully in English, but only for a few hours before it reverts to the previously mentioned state.

How can I solve this without having to reset the device multiple times per day?

Hi SOLE2000,

Thanks for reaching out. I understand that you need to reset to change the language on your Google Nest hub. I am happy to help! I have a question. Have you tried changing the language from the Google Home App? If not, please follow the next steps:

  1. Make sure the mobile device is connected to the same WiFi or linked with the same account. as the speaker or display.
  2. Open the Google Home app.
  3. Tap Settings > Google Assistant > Manage all assistant settings.
  4. Tap Languages > Select the current language set.
  5. Choose from the list of available languages.

And please let me know, where is your country of residence?

I will be awaiting your response.

Regards,

Manuel

Dear Manuel, thanks for your suggestion.  However, as mentioned before, the assistant is programmed in English (there is no other language there) and the voice recognition is working fine.  The problem I have is that part of the contents displayed in the menu as well as the time and date are in Chinese, since as mentioned before, the Hub originally comes in Chinese.  The only way I've been able to fix this is to completely reset the device, and even then it will only remain in English for a few hours.

As to your last question, my country of residence is Costa Rica.

Best,

Hellmuth.
