Google nest mini wont connect

every time I try to set up my nest mini(2nd gen) it keeps saying "Couldn't connect to nest mini. Make sure that local network access is enabled for the home app in your phones privacy settings then try again" I have clicked on the privacy settings, restart both my nest mini and my iPhone and it is still not working.

Are you absolutely sure your password is correct? If this checks out, try moving your Mini closer to your router to see if maybe there's a blind spot or interference issue. If everything seems to be working well, the best solution is to reboot your Nest Mini.

Hey there,

Thanks for the help, MikeClark.

ben8, is this the first time you're setting up your Google Nest Mini on your network? If so, make sure Bluetooth is enabled on your phone and cellular data is off. Try toggling the Wi-Fi settings on your phone.

Give these additional steps a try:

  • Reboot your router and reinstall your Google Home app.
  • Go to iOS Settings> Wi-Fi.
  • Connect to the Wi-Fi network that matches the device they're setting up.
  • Look for something like GoogleHomeXXXX.k, GoogleHomeXXXX.o, or GoogleHomeXXXX.p.
  • Navigate back to the Google Home app.
  • Start setting up your device again.

Keep us posted.

Best,

Alex
