Hello @Jes,

Thank you so much for the post. I'm sorry you are having an issue with your nest mini losing connection. I know that can be frustrating when you are trying to have that whole home connected experience. Let me see what I can do to help here.

First off, I'd like to ask some questions to make sure I understand what is actually happening.

  • What happens when you try to control the smart lights with your Nest Mini? Do you get an error message?
  • Are you able to control your lights using the native app or the Google Home app?

If you haven't done so already, I'd recommend trying to reboot your Nest Mini to see if it helps.
Keep us posted with how things are going. We're here to help if you find the reboot doesn't work.

Best,

James

Thank you James for taking interest in this matter.

Yes, when operational the nest mini controls the lights as it should. However, the Google nest stops working or loses control of the lights. This happens daily.
I make sure that the network is operational, then I have to reboot the mini nest. Sometimes this will correct the problem. Most times I have to turn on all the lights and  completely remount the mini nest to get it to become operational. Each time I lose agility to use Duo phone and lose connection to Bose TV speaker.
If there is a systemic problem with the mini I may need to get rid of it.
Thank you for your interest in this problem.
Jes.

Hi again @Jes,

Sorry for the late response. But I appreciate your reply and the additional information. I wanted to double check one last thing. Do you own any other smart devices that you control with your Nest Mini? Do those also have issues? I wonder if their might be a connectivity issue with your smart lights. Are you able to control those with any other means? I'm just trying to see where the root of the problem is here.

Let me know when you can.

Thank you,

James

James,

Yes, Google mini has access to Google Home app that has access to Chromecast, LG TV, 7 lamps and Bose speaker.
It if the Google mini drops it's network connection then nothing works.
It's the mini that controls via the home app and if not working then the system is not functional.
I don't know why mini keeps losing it's network connection.
This is the issue.
Jes.

Hey there,

I wanted to hop in here to see if I could provide any further clarification. I sent this information over to our engineering team and they ask that you provide them feedback through the Google Home app to them. They suggest including the keywords, "#Lights" along with the name brand of the lights and a short description of what you're encountering.

Please let me know if you have any further questions.

Have a great day.

Garrett,

    Thank you for your inquiry.

It does not matter what lights used as the mini once it drops connection to network, none of the items associated with it's connection are no longer accessable.

However, the lights are C-by-GE-C2C704VO type.

They work nicely when connection is made.

Once again, thank you for your interest.

I have unplugged the Mini in the bedroom.

Jes.
