Hi All,
I just added a new wifi modem and go everything in my house working except the Google Nest smart speaker.
I have reset the speaker and deleted my account from the Google Home app. Since there is no way to sign out, I reestablished my account in Home and logged in. However, the Nest keeps saying "please log in to the Google Home app," and it is.
Any thoughts on how to fix this issue?
All the best,
Rob

I just posted a very similar situation around 6 am this morning. There have been zero responses so far. Hopefully it will be straightened out quickly...otherwise I have a very expensive paperweight in a "paperless" society. 🤬

Yes, me too.
It is crazy that Google do not have a Nest App, like Alexa. That would resolve issues like this. Let me know if you get a reply, and I’ll do the same.
Best,

I've had exactly the same problem for a week 😡 I have rebooted the Wi-Fi, set the speaker back to factory settings, uninstalled and reinstalled the Google Home app and nothing has worked

Yes, If Google don’t offer me a solution, I’ll be demanding my money back.

I'm thinking the same but might be difficult through the retailer

The only other thing I saw to do was to submit a form online but you have to enter the serial number for the device. I'll have to find the box this afternoon after work. If either of you are able to do that today maybe you can get a response...but in my experience with Google and purchasing a website domain, they are not quick to respond to anything!

Unfortunately I no longer have the box. I definitely won't be buying again!

Hi All,
I just got my Nest Speaker to work again. In the Google Home app, for some reason, Google Assistant was not set up. It was before. Anyway, I set that up, and then it connected the Nest speaker.
Try that.

Wow good news! Thanks, I'll try that when I get home 🤞
Sunday
Thank you for the update. I had Google Assistant set up with the latest version downloaded, but that didn't affect my issue. I finally got so frustrated with the entire process this afternoon and ended up totally deleting the entire "home" set-up I had, including other devices. I added the Nest Hub first and to my surprise it worked. I haven't added any of the other devices yet, but I will eventually do that as long as the Nest device seems to work ok over the next few days.
Sunday
I tried to set up Google assistant but it wouldn't set up. Every time I shose speaker as the item to set up then next it looked for the speaker then went back to the start of the process. So frustrated
Monday
Yes, the same thing happened to me. I then went to Authenticator, which is in the same app, turned it on and then redid the connect Google Nest process again and it worked. But I know others have tried this and it didn't work for them. I must have been lucky.
I spoke to Google tech person and they had little idea how to help outside what we've already been doing.
They really need a Nest App, like Alexa.
Best,
Rob
