Google now selects Pakastani TV rather than Australian

Up until this morning I used to be able to say "Hey Google, stream ABC TV" to my Google Nest and it would play the live YouTube stream of the Australian Broadcasting Corporation's News24 channel which is what I wanted.
Today, with the same command, I get some islamic TV broadcast with arabic script that I cannot read but which does contain the letters ABC.
I appreciate that there are various TV companies around the world that trade as "ABC" but as my Nest is connected with an Australian IP address wouldn't it be logical to therefore select an Australian channel and not some Pakastani or Indian TV station?

It's pretty weird that you have experienced this just this morning. Aside from ABC TV, do you have other channels that you are also streaming? We'd like to check if this is an isolated issue on ABC TV channel itself. 

 

Also, while checking on that, could you please try to reboot both your Google Nest Hub and router, simply by unplugging them from the power source for at least a few minutes. As soon as all the devices are plugged in, try the same commands and let me know if you still experience the same thing.

Hi Princess,

I tried this a short while ago and all seems to be working normally again. I say, "Hey Google, stream ABC TV" and up pops the Australian Broadcasting Corporation news channel 24 on YouTube. Perfect!

I tried rebooting when it first happened but the Pakistan news channel remained. I don't use a VPN so the IP address should have shown up as an Australian one.

Anyhow, all works okay again and why it was happening I've no idea. That's one for the Google nerds to work out. 🤓
