Google photo ambient display issue

Abbyhope011

Hello all, I’ve been having an issue on my new Google tv. I tried to set up ambient mode to view my own google photos and it redirected me to the google home app, in which I tried accessing settings. Whenever I click on the gear icon in the app it tells me it’s having trouble connecting to iCloud.

I saw a post on here from September of last year about the same issue. A team member replied and said the team is working on it. However, it’s been a year now and I can’t find any answers and was wondering if there’s a way to resolve this issue.

Any help or suggestions would be appreciated. Was hoping the features would work on my brand new and expensive TV.

The same issue is with me as well. I was trolling and find your post related to my issue. well, I am new here. I feel like it's a pleasant place with a lot of knowledge.

Hey folks,

Thanks for reaching out — let see what's going on.

To make sure, are you referring to Chromecast with Google TV?  If so, is it the 4K or HD? Here's how to check. Make sure your devices are connected to the same network and within 15-20 feet of your router. You might want to check this guide for more information.

Looking forward to your response.

Best,
Alex
