Google smart clocks and Chromecast devices not staying connected on Google home app

I have the following devices on Google home

5 Google mini speakers, 3 Google TV Chromecast devices, 4 Lenovo smart clocks

After purchasing a new router the Chromecast devices and smart clocks won't stay connected in Google home. I can broadcast from the smart clocks but not to them. I have tried rebooting everything, uninstalling, factory restring.

Hi uscgcox,

Thanks for posting and for being a step ahead of us.

This is not the experience that we wanted you to have, let me help you out. A few things: are the Chromecast built-in to your 3 TV's? When you say broadcast do you mean casting? If it's casting, what is the exact message that you are getting from the app? Which app are you using to cast?

You can reboot your WiFi router to refresh the signal and observe if this will make a difference.

Keep me posted.

Thanks,

Juni

Thank you for your reply. I do mean broadcast, though. We can't send broadcast messages using Google assistant to those devices. We get the error (your video devices are offline).

The Chromecast devices are external and are newly purchased with the Google TV bundle.

If the Chromecast will connect to the WiFi (it is sporatic) casting works well. If we connect to the TV apps that are built in, we have no problem.

The smart clocks will broadcast out, but can't receive broadcast messages.

We have tried rebooting the router and have the same issue.

Hey there,

Chiming in to ensure everything is covered here. A few questions: when did the issue start? Are all your speakers linked on the same account? Are you able to broadcast from your phone to your smart clock?

Please note that broadcast messages only work with the speaker or displays with firmware version 1.39154941 or later.

Looking forward to your response.

Cheers,

Muddi
