Can somebody help me connect my newly bought Google NestHub 2 to my shared Wifi? I dont think there is a network or an IT administrator who knows how to register the device's MAC address to the network.

If you have a "shared Wi-Fi" at your apartment, and if they use something like a Captive Portal, which routes you to an authentication page to sign and accept its terms and conditions before you can connect, it MAY be incompatible with Google Nest and Home devices. You MIGHT be able to connect your Nest Hub to such a network if you can provide them with your Nest Hub Max's MAC address and if they can configure it on their router. If your apartment doesn't have a network administrator who can do this, I'm not sure any of us fellow Google Nest customers can help.

Hi everyone,
Thanks for visiting the Community.
@MplsCustomer, thanks for helping out.
@Dilshan, Wi-Fi networks on dormitories, hotels, cafe and other establishments are not officially supported by Google Nest speakers, so they may or may not work with this type of network, it is not guaranteed. These type of networks has limitations on what devices can connect to it and also a security risk since this is a public network. However, if you still plan to get it connected, you can reach your local IT or network administrator and let them know that you want to connect your device to that network.
