Have Google Speakers had the assistant replaced with a dead frog?

I have a range of Google Assistant speakers which I used to love. Over the last year or so they have become thick as castle walls and all they ever say is "sorry there is a glitch" "sorry there is problem" sorry I did not understand" etc. I thought it might be as I had older Google Homes so I've bought the new nest upgrades and still utterly useless. I ask to turn a downstairs light on and it turns an upstairs TV on etc. Anyone actually able to use these things anymore as I'm about to bin the lot and get Alexa.

Hi Pete398398,

We hear you — we can understand why you feel that way. We'll work together to identify the cause of the problem and find a solution. What is the distance between your Google Nest speakers and your Wi-Fi router? What troubleshooting steps have you taken so far? Try to check the history of your Google Assistant and see if it heard you correctly. Check out the steps below:

  1. Open the Google Home app .
  2. At the top right, tap your account.
  3. Tap My Activity .

Regards,

Juni

I've chucked them all away, I have been messing about with them for months. Assistant only works on my Pixel 8 Pro now so I've bought Alexa which works like Google used to.
