Hi, my Nest Mini keeps resetting itself to factory settings about once per week since this year. It drive me crazy because I have to reset on the Google Home app. I have followed the instructions to reset the speak but problem still exists.

Please help, is there a way to restore the software or firmware completely?

Hey JimJimbro,

Thanks for visiting the Community.

Apologies for the delayed reply. I understand the frustration of dealing with a continuously resetting Google Nest Mini. Let's work together to troubleshoot this issue. A few questions:

  • Are you using the official power adapter that came with the speaker?
  • Have you attempted to connect the device to another wall outlet?
  • Could you provide the current firmware version of your Nest Mini?
  • When and where did you purchase your device?

If you haven't already, I recommend trying to set up your Nest Mini on a different home structure to see if the issue persists. This will help us narrow down the possible causes.

Let me know how it goes.

Cheers,

Muddi

Hi Muddi, thank you for your reply.

I am using official power adapter. I tried to move it to other location and reset. Problem was still exists. It was purchased at Currys three years ago. Could you let me know how to check the firmware version?

Hi there,

Got it! To check which firmware version you're on, follow these steps:

  1. Make sure your mobile device or tablet is linked to the same account as your speaker or display.
  2. Open the Google Home app Google Home app.
  3. Tap and hold your device's tile.
  4. At the top right, tap Settings > Device information.
  5. Under "Technical information," find Cast firmware: X.XXX.XXXXX.

Cheers,
