Home Mini echoed my voice (like a public address system)

This has happened only once. I was talking to my girlfriend and know I didn't say anything close to a hot word. There was no TV or stereo playing, just the two of us talking. We walk into a room that has the mini in question (after leaving a room that has another mini in it) and all of a sudden I hear an echo of my voice coming from the mini. It was as if I was talking into a PA system. You know a slight delay from your actual speech. It freaked us both out, I later questioned the mini, who "didn't understand".

Has anyone else heard of this? Is there even a function like this built into the mini? I have tried to get it to do it again but have had no luck. Searching for it has not been easy either as it is always assumed you mean that it parroted my voice with its own. It was not repeating what I said  It was amplifying my voice on immediate playback. I worry about privacy more as a result of this. Any information would be appreciated.

Sounds like the Broadcast function, "hey google broadcast" + your message will play on all speakers in your home.
