Home can't see installed and working device

So, the speakers work with voice commands. The Google Chromecast with Google TV 4K works with the remote.  These were set up on the phone with the Home app. Phone, speakers, and Chromecast all on the 5g network. I have soft reset and hard reset.

I changed network in the last month. New router from Spectrum. After I set up a Google device (Google speaker gen 1, gen 1 & 2 and Nest minis) they work, hut in Home app, I get error "Can't see [e.g., living room] speaker on wifi network. Check that it's online and that your phone or tablet is connected to the same Wi-Fi network."

I can't cast to the devices as I did in the past nor can I simply connect to them in the app. I get all voice utility from them.

Old google profile in some app? Router setting? Curse as a penance for my sins?

Hey DeWill,

Thanks for visiting the Community.

Since this thread hasn't had activity in a while, we're going to close it to keep content fresh. If you're still having trouble with your devices, please give these steps a try:

  • Make sure your devices are within 15 feet of your router.
  • Reboot your devices.
  • Check router settings. (AP isolation must be disabled and UPnP must be enabled).
  • Reboot router again.
  • Turn on Local network access for the Google Home app. Here's how: Privacy > Local Network > Google Home app
  • Use mobile hotspot to set up Chromecast (To isolate the issue).
  • Do another factory reset.

If the issue persists, feel free to submit another post and provide as many details as possible so that others can lend a hand. Hope this helps!

Best,

Alex
