How can I turn off automatic updates on Mini and Nest devices?

We use our Nest displays and minis to play white noise during the night. On several nights a week the devices seem to automatically update and turn off & on again - but don't resume white noise. Cannot find anything on Google about turning the updates off or anything in settings. Help!

Thank you for your message. Unfortunately, there is not a way to turn off automatic updates. I understand how this is an issue for you, I have watched my devices update automatically by itself as well. 

Rest assured that we're always open for ways to improve, so we'll take this as feedback and pass it along to the team. We encourage you to do the same by using your own device or Google Home app and following the steps here.
