How do I get my screen to stop freezing and shutting down?

Thank you for your message. Oh no! Having a screen freeze and shut down sounds very frustrating. I would be more than happy to help find a solution with you. First, I have some questions:
  • Which Google device is this post in regard to? (model name, generation number)
  • Is this a new issue? Was your device working normally before?
  • What happens when this issue occurs? Is it randomly or when you are doing something on the device?
  • Does it shut down by itself?
  • Does it power back on by itself as well? 
  • Is your device powering on, responding to commands, and working besides this issue?
  • Do you see any error messages when the issue occurs?
  • Have you tried to do a Factory Data Reset on the device? Does the issue still occur?
    • A factory reset will reset your Google Nest or Home speaker or display to its default factory settings.
      Note: This action will clear your data from the device and can't be undone.
