How do I turn off the chiming sound I hear before I'm told about a reminder on Google home mini?

Recently my Google Home Mini has been making a chiming sound before it tells me about a reminder. This did not use to happen so there should be a way to turn it off, but I cannot locate the option anywhere and didn't find any information when I Googled it or when I searched Google help. Someone in this community suggested I toggle off the start and end sound listed in the accessibility settings, but those were already toggled off. Even so, I toggled them on and off again and tested it out more than once, but that did not get rid of the chime sound. Thanks in advance for the help.

Hey there NCF,

I understand wanting to have the chime sound turned off when a reminder happens, because I understand it can be annoying at times and I'm happy to look into this for you.

Please try these steps for me and let me know if this is what you're looking for.

On your Android phone or tablet, say "Hey Google, open Assistant settings." Or, go to Assistant settings. Tap Devices. Spoken notifications. Turn Spoken notifications on or off.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Best regards,

Hello, thanks for the help. I followed your instructions but could not find the setting. I asked google to open the assistant settings, tapped devices, and my only options from there are to add a device, open the home app, or I can click on my Google mini or TV. I have looked everywhere and even searched the settings for the option to turn off spoken notifications. I'm unsure if that would even solve the problem though. I still want her to say "I have a reminder for Nicole" when there is a reminder for me, I just want to stop the chime sound that plays right before Google says that. I even spoke to Google over the phone but no one can figure it out. For more than 2 years I have not had a chime sound play prior to Google telling me about a reminder. Suddenly it appears and it feels like I'm stuck with it. Not the worst thing in the world, just seems there should be an option to stop the chime sound.

Hey there,

Thanks for trying those options, unfortunately with no avail. Upon doing some further research, that is the only thing that I could find on this, so it appears that there is no option to turn the chime off. I am happy to take this feedback to our team and pass it forward so that possibly they can make that change in the future.

If you have any further questions let me know, otherwise I will go ahead and lock this thread in 24 hours.

Thanks for your help. Yes please share this with the team. As I said, I still want Google to say "I have a reminder for Nicole" when there is a reminder for me, I just want to stop the chime sound that plays right before Google says that. I'm sure it's a helpful feature for some people to better alert them that Google is trying to remind them of something, but in my small apartment it's easy to hear Google and I also get the reminders on my phone, so I don't need the extra chime sound. Thanks!
