How do I use speakers to talk to doorbell

I'm trying to talk to my battery doorbell using my Google Home speakers.

Hi did anyone find a solution? I just bought a nest doorbell in the belief that it worked with nest speakers as all the literature stated. How? My elderly mother has become disabled so I bought it so she could speak to people at the front door without having to get up. Surely it doesn't just tell you someone is at the front door but you have to go open an app or get to a hub and push a button. Whats the point. The 30 year old doorbell tells her someone is at the front door. I aid $400 for what?
