Hub will not play music through bt speaker.

Seen other folks mention similar issues, wonder if there's a fix or if we are just abandoned. I bought a hub with the hope that, among other things, my night automation would play sleep sounds through a bluetooth speaker. I've had the hub about a week or so. I got the speaker connected but no matter I do it won't output any audio to it.  Any suggestions? Yes, reset everything, reconnected, etc etc. All is up to date, brand new, went through the process.

Hi Wester0,

Thanks for posting in the Community.

We're sorry to hear about this experience. I also appreciate all the steps you've shared trying to resolve this. Since you have tried some steps, could you try connecting your Google Nest Hub to a different device other than the speaker you're trying to connect with? We would like to further isolate this issue so we can check further what's causing this to happen.

Here's some steps to help:

From the Google Home app

  1. Open the Google Home app Google Home app.
  2. Tap Favorites or Devices .
  3. Touch and hold the tile of the device you want to pair.
  4. Tap Settings and then Audio and then Paired Bluetooth devices and then Enable Pairing Mode.

From your mobile device's Bluetooth settings

  1. On your mobile device's Home screen, tap Settings and then Bluetooth.
  2. Turn on Bluetooth On.
  3. Tap the name of the speaker or display you'd like to pair.

From your computer's Bluetooth settings

Note: Steps vary depending on computer or laptop model.

Windows OS

  1. Select the Start button and then type “Bluetooth” and then select Bluetooth settings from the list.
  2. Turn on Bluetooth.
  3. Tap the name of the speaker or display you’d like to pair.

Mac OS

  1. Click the Apple menu and then System Preferences.
  2. Find the Bluetooth icon .
  3. Turn on Bluetooth.
  4. Select the name of the speaker or display you’d like to pair.

Let me know how it goes.

Best,

Princess

It has no trouble connecting to any of my bt speakers, it just refuses to output audio. Doesn't matter the speaker, location, the audio, nothing. It just doesn't work. Dozens if not hundreds of others have reported the same issue. Seems to work with google speakers but only google speakers.
